Our 2005 Marin County Estate Grown Chardonnay
(800 cases) is a focused wine, with crisp citrus overtones and hints of tropical fruits – mango and papaya. It shows bright acidity and supple tannins. Winemaker Dan Goldfield’s use of well balanced oak allows the fruit flavors to fully express themselves, leading to a pleasurably rounded finish. Made from organically grown grapes.
Our 2005 Marin County Estate Grown Pinot Noir
(200 cases) is vibrant ruby in color and not quite brilliant in clarity, denoting its nonfiltered processing (done to maintain optimum richness and character in the wine). It is a lush wine, with flavors of lively blackberry and cherry, a hint of cinnamon spice, brown sugar, soft and sweet tannins, and a rich palate. It is an elegant but full wine with focused acidity, good balance, texture and length. It lingers on the palate, revealing creamy vanilla, nutmeg, and a touch of wood characters on the finish. Made from organically grown grapes.
Our 2005 Marin County Merlot
Merlot (300 cases) shows the deep berry fruit intensity and depth that we’ve come to expect from Marin County wines, but none of the heaviness that is often associated with big Merlots from hotter climates. The nose shows a complex melange of blackberry, raspberry and red plum fruits, along with a touch toast and leather in the overtones. It's brightness and fruit forward nature show it's Marin County roots. In the mouth, fresh cherry fruit shines through, carried by supple tannins and clean acidity. It's forward fruit, balanced acidity and moderate alcohol work together to make the 2005 Merlot a great match for light meat game bird dishes like game hen or veal. |
